Manolis Heliotis

Mr Manolis Heliotis is the Clinical Director of the Head & Neck Division of the North West London NHS Trust with responsibility for the clinical management of the Departments of: Maxillofacial & Oral Surgery; Orthodontics; Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery; Audiology; Ophthalmology. He is a fully trained and accredited Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a substantive Consultant post at Northwick Park and St Mark's Hospitals in North West London. He has admitting rights as consultant to the Clementine Churchill Hospital, Trust Plus, St John's and St Elizabeth's Hospital, Spire Bushey Hospital and The London Clinic in Central London.

Mr Heliotis received all his post-graduate surgical training in the United Kingdom. Formal Higher Surgical Training was achieved by rotating through some of the best training hospitals for his speciality - King's College Hospital, The Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead & The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. He is Board Certified in Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery in the UK and holds the FRCS (OMFS). He is registered with the GMC (General Medical Council) as a Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon, as well as with the GDC (General Dental Council).

Mr Heliotis qualified in Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch in the beautiful Cape and in Dentistry at the University of the Witwatersrand in vibrant Johannesburg, where he was also born.

Mr Heliotis has performed, taught and supervised well over 3,000 procedures on people's faces in his career for complex facial deformity, orthognathic surgery, cosmetic facial surgery, cranio-maxillofacial and orbital trauma and post-traumatic facial deformity correction, septo-rhinoplasties for cosmetic and post-traumatic nasal corrections, facial cosmetic implants, salivary gland surgery, head & neck skin cancer resections and reconstructions of nose, ear, eye lid, orbital and cheek defects with complex flaps and skin grafts. He is the designated surgeon at NWLH NHS Trust for facial / head & neck skin cancers, working closely with dermatologists & GP's and sits on the skin cancer MDT.

He has also performed thousands of oral surgical procedures for impacted wisdom teeth, unerupted teeth and dental implants. He has used pioneering translational work in bone grafting and bone regeneration for facial reconstruction and jaw augmentations with recombinant growth factors and has carried out novel work in reconstructing defects resulting from bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaws.
